Telegram available on 2 version, Web Version and Desktop version. We can choose one of them according to our taste. There are some differences of them.

At the Telegram Web version, your background chat can’t be changed, and cloud password feature not available. Different with Telegram Desktop Version, It can change your background chat and make your chatting with her more fun. :-D. You can see more further at here.

Well, to install Telegram Desktop Version you can follow this guidance :

First, Download the latest version of Telegram Desktop here : https://desktop.telegram.org/.

After download, Extract Telegram and you will see Telegram Folder.

Move into another directory (Example : /home/my-home/Telegram).

Okay, you can open Telegram by go to the folder. But, it’s not simple, you can create Telegram shortcut to Application Menu with following guidance :

Open Terminal and add the following script :

vi /home/dhenandi/.local/share/applications/telegramdesktop.desktop

[Desktop Entry]
Categories=Network;
Comment[en_US]=Official desktop version of Telegram messaging app
Comment=Official desktop version of Telegram messaging app
Encoding=UTF-8
Exec=/home/my-home/Telegram/Telegram
Icon=telegram
Name[en_US]=Telegram Desktop
Name=Telegram Desktop
StartupNotify=true
StartupWMClass=Telegram
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Version=1.0
X-Desktop-File-Install-Version=0.22
X-KDE-SubstituteUID=false

Don’t forget to set “Exec=” option to the target Application (/home/my-home/Telegram/Telegram).

Okay, now you can see at your KDE Menu at the Internet category. Right Click and Add to Desktop.

Okay, easy right ?. Finally you just need to login to your telegram account with you Phone Number.
